In an effort to get trial lawyers of the backs of the trucking and shipping industry, Bob Voltmann, who runs the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA), is pushing for national hiring standards for truckers. He believes with clear guidelines as to what constitutes a safe motorist, he can end the successful liability run of trial lawyers against the industry. We certainly wish him well in this endeavor.
